The only search sending you Google visits is people looking for a newspaper

This review is about what your website brings in, and what stops it. We went through the site, your search rankings and your reviews. The findings are blunt. Your site shows up for only three searches, and its handful of monthly visits all come from people typing "the sun", looking for the newspaper, not for solar. The one search that would actually bring you a Limerick customer, "solar panels limerick", sits at 32nd, on page four, where nobody looks. And the site itself has been sitting untouched since 2021: no list of pages handed to Google, no description controlling what shows in search, and software three years out of date. The photos and reviews on it are genuinely good. It's all detailed below, with what to do about each one.

01 The rankings

Google barely knows the site is there

Most installer sites show up for dozens of searches. Yours shows up for three, and brings in about two visits a month. Worse, both of those visits come from the wrong search. Here is the whole picture, every search the site ranks for.

What people GooglePeople / monthYour situation
the sun ie9,90019th. These are people looking for The Sun newspaper, not solar. It's your only Google traffic.19th
solar panels limerick26032nd. The one search that brings a Limerick customer, stuck on page four.32nd
spv energy26034th.34th

This isn't a site sitting just off page one that needs a nudge. It's a site Google has more or less filed away. When a homeowner in Limerick searches for solar panels, you are on page four, and page four might as well not exist. The good work you have done, the real installs, the reviews, the twenty-five years, none of it is reaching anyone through search, because the site was set up once in 2021 and left alone since.

02 The specifics

Why the site is invisible

Missing
Google was never given a list of your pages
Every site is meant to hand Google a simple list of all its pages, so Google knows they exist and can show them. Yours doesn't have one. So most of your pages are effectively invisible: Google can't show a page it was never told about.
Missing
Nothing controls what shows up when people search you
The homepage has no search description, the short line of text that appears under your name in Google's results. Without it, Google picks whatever scrap of text it likes. You have no say over the first thing a potential customer reads about you.
Stale
The site says 2021 and runs on 2022 software
The copyright line at the bottom still reads 2021, and the software the site is built on is a version from about three years ago. Nobody has updated it since it launched. Old software is slower, less secure, and a growing risk of something breaking with no one watching.
Weak
The homepage title doesn't say where you are
Your title reads "Affordable PV Panels for your home". No Limerick, no county. It's one of the main things Google uses to match you to "solar panels limerick", and the word Limerick isn't in it. So the one search that matters most has the least to grab onto.
Worth noticing

Here's the honest part: the look of the site is fine. The project photos are real, the reviews are real, the SEAI and Safe Electric badges are there. The problem is underneath, in a setup that was done once in 2021 and never maintained. So there are two fair ways forward, and they cost differently: patch the current site, fix the list of pages, the descriptions, the software and the Limerick targeting, or build once on a current, faster site. On the call I'll price both, and you pick.

03 Done for you

The fixes, already written out

Each fix below is ready to hand to whoever manages the site.

Fix 1 · A Google listing that says Limerick
Right now your title has no location and there's no description at all, so Google writes its own. Here's a title and description that name Limerick, name the service, and put your rating in front of people before they click.

Fix 2 · Make the site findable and aimed at Limerick
These are the foundations the site never got. Together they let Google find your pages and understand that you serve Limerick.
Give Google the list of your pages, add the page list every site is meant to have, so your pages can show at all
Put "Limerick" into the homepage, the title, the main heading, and the opening text
solar panels limerick → owner: the homepage. Open with those words and back them with your real Limerick installs.
Fix 3 · The quick tidy-up
Small jobs, each done once, that stop the site looking abandoned.
Update the copyright year, it still says 2021
Update the site's software, it's about three years out of date
Add a search description to every main page, so you control what Google shows
Put "5.0 from 48 reviews" near the top of the homepage, you have the testimonials, show the number too
04 The plan

What to do and when

Start at the top. The first two blocks are edits to the site you have. The bottom block is the one real decision.

Today
about 25 minutes total
Swap in the new Google listing text from Fix 1.
10 min
Update the copyright year and add "5.0 from 48 reviews" to the homepage.

This week
about 2 hours
Add the list of pages for Google and a search description to each main page, from Fix 2 and Fix 3.
45 min
Put "Limerick" into the homepage title, heading and opening text.
30 min
Update the site's software, or have whoever manages it do so.

This month
the one decision
Decide: patch or build. The edits above will help, but the site was set up in 2021 and left alone. The honest question is whether to keep patching it or build once on a current, faster site. I'll price both options so you can choose on cost, not pressure.
on the call
Aim everything at Limerick. Either way, the goal is the same: own "solar panels limerick" and the nearby searches with real pages backed by your real installs.

05 What it adds up to

Run your own numbers on it

Here is the sum in its plain parts, and it's an honest one. "Solar panels limerick" is 260 people a month, and "spv energy" is another 260, and right now you're on page four for both, so almost none of them reach you. That's the floor, not the ceiling: the site ranks for so little today that most of the Limerick solar searches don't show your name at all, so they can't even be counted yet. Once the site is findable and aimed at Limerick, more of those searches come into view. You know what a solar job in Limerick is worth to you, and how many enquiries turn into one. That's the sum worth doing on your side.

Why sooner beats later

The site has been frozen since 2021 while Limerick installers who keep their sites current take those searches month after month. Every month it stays invisible is a month of enquiries going to them instead. And an unpatched site three years out of date doesn't just sit still, it slowly gets slower and more likely to break, with no one watching it.
